28 Days ! 12 Reasons to cover the Habs

28 days to go and I feel like it should just start tomorrow! I feel like a child on christmas ... and yet i don't have an advent calendar? So there are twenty-eight days to go .. so it's time to talk more about the Habs and why it's going to be so fantastic to follow them and write about them!

Alright so number 1.
Poutine.. you may not think is in any way related.. but let me explain a little bit more. Poutine is very well known as a canadian cuisine  French people tend to make the most incredible poutine. see where i'm going with this? ... Montreal HAS TO have the best poutine there is .. they're french.
Not only do they make super awesome poutine , but croissants are super delicious too. food and hockey just go together , and so does beer .. and theres canadian beer. So it's kinda like the perfect match right?
Poutine, a Croissant, Canadian, and Canadians ? yup , it's perfect.

2. So the Canadians are also know as the Habs ... and for some unknown reason I always thought the H in the logo stood for Habs.. it doesn't tho. It stands for Hockey.
Canadian Hockey.
get it ?
Because it's our game... i think that's rather nifty. Not to mention they're also known as the flying french men .. i have yet to see a french man fly , but maybe that's because I haven't been watching enough of the MTL Cdns.

3. For some unknown reason a lot of people think that TML are the "best" representation of Canadian hockey. PERSONALLY i'm gonna have to disagree ... by a lot.
Goal : Show people that the Habs are a better rep than the leafs :)

4. Their wonderful selection in goalies. both the Habs and Baby-Habs (bulldogs) have two great pairs of goaltenders. Btwn Price and Budaj for the Canadians and Mayer & Tokarski for the bulldogs they are just all around studs between the pipes. All four goalies have an above .900 save percentage with Mayer's being at .925 (lowest of the four)

5. Brendan Gallager. need i say more?

6. They are apart of the original 6 .. which is always a pretty awesome factoid.

7. They have won more stanley cups than any other franchise .. again another pretty interesting factoid.

8. Superman wore red. Suree he wore a different logo, but still the same colours so it's close enough. I think it's pretty simple to say that it's no coincidence that the Habs and Superman match.

9. Since i always end up watching the games online, i'm always lucky enough to only find the french version .. it's incredibly fascinating to have no idea what the announcers are saying. SO with that in mind, maybe writing for the Habs will help me pick up a new language? .. or like the important parts of the french language other than "bonjour mi nombre le Becca" (errr ... wait a minute ... thats wrong) , see what I mean? I probably should have paid more attention in grade 9 french.

10. So last year in the playoffs they didn't do so Hot.. and the year before that .. and before that ... annnnd , well you get my point. Anyways, i'm kind of a lucky charm. Meaning that this year things might just go a little different for the Habs ;)

11. Brendan Gallagher. or wait did i already say that ?

12. Speaking of Goalies from the Bulldogs a little bit earlier , I also like the fact that there are always so many Dogs up for the Habs and that they bounce back and forth. There are a bunch of beauties that play both, such as Tinordi, Beauliue, St.Pierre, Blunden , etc. Not to mention Mayer did go up for playoffs last year. It's interesting to see how they work and manage the players that are on AHL-NHL contracts.

Fact of the Day:
Mr.Rogers was an ordained minister.
You can actually get ordained online and it takes less than an hour.
