Hamilton Nationals - News and Notes May 20th

Ron Joyce Stadium was packed with fans to watch the Nationals take on the Charlotte Hounds Friday morning and continue thier win streak. After an over-time win against the Hounds the Nationals are now 3-0 to start the 2013 season, which is the exact opposite of just one year ago when they started 0-3.
Matt Dolente scored the game winning goal just seven seconds into sudden death over time to take the win. This is the second close game for the Nationals at home this season after their home opener May 11th when Kevin Crowley scored the two-pointer with just four seconds left in the fourth to take the win.
Joe Walters and Stephen Keogh who are now back on the active roster for the Nationals after winning the NLL Championship with the Rochester Knighthawks both knocked in hat tricks during Friday’s game. Joe Walters led the Nationals in points in 2012 with 46 (17+28) With Keogh not to far behind with 32 points (26+32).
This is the second time in franchise history that the Nationals have opened up their season with a winning streak since 2009, when they won their first two games. That was the same year the Nationals won the Championship against Denver 9-8 under Head Coach Dave Huntley who is back with the Nationals this season.
The Nationals are on the road until June 29th before they are back at home against Chesapeake with the first stop being Ohio on Thursday night. The Machine are currently ranked last in the MLL with an 0-3 record losing by almost double or more than double the score.
